IIMA Dubai Faculty Receives UAE Research Excellence Grant for Sustainability Study

Dr. Aisha Rahman, Associate Professor of Strategy at IIMA Dubai, has been awarded a prestigious UAE Research Excellence Grant worth AED 2 million for her research project on sustainable business transformation in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

Research Focus

The three-year study, titled "Pathways to Net Zero: Business Model Innovation in GCC Organizations," will examine how companies in the region are adapting their strategies and operations to meet sustainability goals.

  • What role does government policy play in driving corporate sustainability?
  • What are the unique challenges and opportunities for sustainability in the Gulf context?

    The research will include:

  • In-depth case studies of 50 companies across UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar
  • Surveys of 500+ business leaders on sustainability practices
  • Analysis of sustainability reporting and ESG performance data

    The findings will be shared through academic publications, industry reports, and executive education programs at IIMA Dubai.
